From today's Post-Gazette editorial page in response to the false Patrick Reilly mailer that implies that the Post-Gazette endorsed him as well as falsely implying that Mayor Luke Ravenstahl endorses Reilly when in reality Ravenstahl endorses Anthony Coghill for Pittsburgh City Council.
Post-Gazette
"This incident is outrageous and lays before the voters Mr. Reilly's lack of integrity. The public resents candidates who twist reality to suit their political aims and use disingenuous material to treat voters like pawns. People have a right to wonder what kind of conduct to expect from such politicians once in office and they must wield their votes as a pre-emptive strike to get only the most trustworthy public servants -- certainly not Patrick Reilly."

And Mr. Coghill is a saint?? He blantantly lied about being on the Beechview committee... Mr. Reilly did not lead us to believe he is endorsed by the mayor, but that we should support our "endorsed canidates". Also, we've recieved a letter from Mr. Reilly explaining the literature, that he indeed in fact WAS NOT endorsed by the PG. A classy thing to do on his end. If Mr. Coghill cared for our neighborhoods, where was he for Beechviews meeting on the T stops? A meeting VERY important about HIS own neighborhood?

I don't think we are in some discussion about who is Saintly and who isn't.

Coghill WAS there. There were 2 scheduled meetings and he attended the 1st one and actually spoke at it. Rudiak was also at this meeting. Missing was Richard Weaver & Patrick Reilly.
